On September 7, 2024, the Kathryn Rudder Foundation had the First Annual Dream Day Celebration. This celebration honored so many things; the people that had come along on this journey with the Rudder Family, the neighborhood that rallied around them when they heard the hardest words you can hear, and the celebration of Kathryn's recovery, almost a year to the day when she was first rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

A year later, The KRF wanted to throw a party to say thank you to everyone who had sustained them during this journey and bring to a conclusion their first ever fund raiser by choosing the winner of the brand-new Sierra Golf Cart graciously donated by Sierra Golf Carts. Altogether, the three-hour event saw over 500 people attend with some coming from as far away as Orlando and Fort Sumpter South Carolina.

The KRF gave away hundreds of dollars in food gift cards, beautiful art, clothing gift cards and more. One of the highlights of the event was when Kathryn addressed those in attendance with a poem that resonated with her throughout her journey. While the poem spoke to her in her hardest times, its words can speak to any circumstance someone may be facing. You can listen to Kathryn's poem by clicking on the video below.

As we plan for next year's Dream Day Celebration, we are so thankful for everyone who has stood with the Rudder Family through this last year. Thank you to the following sponsors for making the Dream Day a huge success: Bitty and Beau's, Caps on the Water, Kona Ice, Gloozie, The Pink Nickel, Kilwins, Grumpys Restaurant, Odd Birds, Wild Oaks Wood Company, Nuggie's Garage and Echo Home Furnishings. Thank you all for your support and if you would like to donate to the Kathryn Rudder Foundation, please click on the Support KRF tab above. Thank you all for your unwavering support.
